Pregnancy Fun
I have learned that being pregnant is no picnic. I have it easier than most people, it's true, but I still have my share of discomfort and embarrassing moments. Today for example: I find myself abandoning my still-running car in a random parking lot, trying desperately to run to the Bombay House bathroom because I'm going to hurl, only to make it to the patch of grass in FRONT of the building, where I was choking and spitting on my hands and knees for 5 minutes. No hurling involved by the way - it was just a teaser. Did anyone see me? I hope so, because I put on quite a show.p.s. I may have possibly stolen this image.

Round 2
Shane and I planted our first garden together this year. We planted peppers, tomatoes, corn, strawberries, cucumber, garlic, basil, cilantro, parsley, and some other things. We planned on blogging about the success of our garden, but that will never be possible due to the fact that I don't have a green thumb and the garden is failing under my care. Fortunately, Shane gave me a "Chia Herb Garden" for Christmas, which I recently uncovered in a box downstairs. So, I'm trying again, and it says on the box that this will work if I just follow the instructions....we'll see.
I'm trying to germinate the seeds, and the plastic bags are to make a greenhouse effect. I will be so happy if I could just make something grow!

Saturday Thrifting
Shane and I went to the D.I. on Saturday to look around, and I found these beautiful vintage plates. There was a complete set of 12, all in perfect condition for $.50 a piece! I bought them, of course, and now I'm just trying to come up with a fun, girly occasion for which to use them.

Dont dry girl jeans...
This is what happens when Lauren's jeans get dried. (courtesy of the renters) skinny tight jeans are so in with the hipsters that in the heart hipster provo ( which is speculated to be within 2 blocks of our house) I actually get complements. I have meaty hamstrings. Notice the bulging forearm.. I swear I wasn't flexing... ok maybe a little.
Heart of Utah Award
Im just gonna be honest and say that I really enjoy the occational black tie event... whos with me? am I alone?

Haven J. Barlow Sr. served some 50 years in the Utah legislature and like half of those as the majority whip. We sat right up front at one of his assigned tables. It was alot of fun, the event was put on by the Heart Association in cahoots with a bunch of serious sponsers. It was actually a fund raiser, they did an empty auction/no items to buy just and auctioneer and peoples check books. my wife is hot.

A MAN'S MAN
The Dyer Girls just had a Girls weekend in Park City. Dad came... We did manly things... like trim the trees more....I could not get dad to put on a harness...scared me to death..cause I just got finished healing from my last fall out of a tree WITH a harness.
We had quite a few visits to home depot... and could be called... Plumbers, Gardners, Electritians, Construction workers, Maids, and general handymen... but mostly men.

Better then lifting wieghts
So if you're looking for a way to feel like a man... and the hair on your back is not doing it for you... may I suggest power tools. This is my new set. (minus the little drill in the front). It will Inspire you, you will think up manly projects that sooth the brute mind and bring fulfillment in the midst of office work and estrogen.

Lately im in the business of looking for amazing deals on tools. Not only do you feel totally warm inside about owning tools, you feel clever for paying less. Im now looking at air compressors. I think I will set my price range at $75 bones... Im looking for around 2 HP and an 10 gallon tank min ... I want around 5 cfm too. this will be a VERY hard find, perhaps impossible.. Ill keep you updated.

Tree 1, Shane 0
Well I decided I needed to trim some of my huge silver maples out front. ( I have 6 of them) and my over grown apple tree.
The first 2 I did'nt use any ropes, and i managed just fine with my new craftsmen professional cordless tools (20v lithum set for only $140) I used my reciprocating saw pictured below on my hip.

on tree number 3, I was thinking that I was pressing my luck so i decided rope up. I got out my climbing gear and put up some saftey lines. all was going well. Until a 6 inch diameter rotted branch broke from under me.. it happened so fast I didnt have time to think.

And this is the exstent of my injurys. dont be fooled... it still hurts. but my advice to world is when trimming very large silver maples... wear a harness and use some saftey lines.. I would have been so hurt if I fell to the ground 15 feet to a pile mean branches and hard ground. Today Im a lucky boy.

Lucy Lou
Reasons to own this dog:
She can walk on her hind legs.
She makes my wife really really happy.
She may be able to bite an intruder, but probably only once before being dominated.
She trys to run faster then her legs can handle so she crashes. Its really funny, and endearing.
Thats about it for now. I'll keep you updated.
