Hello Northwest!!

Shane came home today with an envelope addressed to Shane and Lauren Dyer, so I grabbed it and I looked inside to find 2 tickets to Oregon!(disguised cleverly as concert tickets) I am extra super duper happy about this as my sister Annie and her husband Jake will be meeting up with us, and we get to see Dan and Minna and the kids! Shane is the best husband ever, and it was great news after finding out that we're being evicted from our apartment, and the house we were buying fell through. So, at least from July 3rd to the 8th we will not be homeless - we will be on vacation!

Golf = Blood Sweat and Tears

Golf... I find golf to be a very difficult game. Its heart crushing, and yet so satisfying. In these photographs Lauren and I battled it out on a short course (par3 and 4 only)... it was a tough game. In the end she won by 4 strokes. Her best clubs: The Putter and her trusty 1 wood, (she got fantastic 2002 Womens Callaway C4) . My best clubs: The 7 and 8 irons. I only lost one ball!

Angels Landing

This is the the very edge of hiking more on the mountaineering side... Ive done a bunch of the climbing stuff but it didn't really help, I was still nervous, maybe more for my wife; one slip and your totally dead. Its such a good hike. they have chains all the way up. I would have preferred ropes, It would have felt safer. I circled some more people if you click on it. This odd sliver of rock is 1500 feet of shear cliff on both side. Truly amazing what God has done. Lee and Jo are in the foreground. They are our good friends(hopefuls for Team Married) and camping partners, very adventurous...

The Magnitude

Here I circled two people in red. You can click on the picture to enlarge it. It kinda gives you an idea of the depth of the narrows. Its unreal... miles and miles of this.

Becoming a Man

Along the rite of passage highway which I have been zipping down this year, I found one of my favorite man creating moments to be the purchase of this fine barbecue. It was at a thrift store. I did a graceful job of helping them to see why it should only cost 10 dollars. Its a nice kenmore 3 burner, with a temperature gauge. Im smiling just writing about this excellent piece of equipment.

However I have found 1 glich in the man making perchase. The burners only have a tiny flame, and so I meet perhaps another right of passage; Needing to fulfill my manly duty of "Mr. Fix it"... and not having done so.

Graduation

Well I Graduated last December. However I walked this last week. My parents came to town... I thought that its a good idea to walk at least once for my college experance. Here you can see that my robe is that of a PhD.. I was feeling pretty sweet with this bad boy on. And with such a good looking wife, It was hard to feel anything but rad.

Im glad that my parents came too. Its nice to have them in town.

Hard at Work

Me with my $10,000 GPS hard at work.
The truth is I rarely get to go to the field so this day was a treat. I put on waders and walked irrigation canals all day. It was fantastic. I'm doing the design for a pipe that will take the place of the canals.

The Unseen Images

The new Family went to the Bahamas. These are rare photos and comprise 99 percent of all honeymoon photos taken by the New Dyers while in the Bahamas...
Newly married Shane is in awe at how much he enjoys being married. Newly married Lauren does not like her husband to make her go to class. She is however Loving Married life. And finds herself Blown away by the easy and natural transition both the newlyweds have felt in their new life together.

The Lovely Desert

Here we have peterified sand dunes. But since petrified is such a hard word to spell we will call them "Ancient hardened Sand mounds" Posted by Picasa

In search of a camp spot

Saint George does not do much to fasilitate no budget campers. They make everything "day use only" and in the parks you have to pay for a camp site. But since the 4 of us pay our taxes (and therefore own the country) we camp whereever we please... the key is hideing the car.  Posted by Picasa
