Not My Day

I knew it was going to be a bad day when I realized this morning that I had applied my deodorant stick to my toothbrush instead of toothpaste.

Not only have I been extremely forgetful and distracted all day, but also very clumsy. I dropped ALL of my grocery bags at the same time, shattering everything in glass containers and tearing open the cream carton. I also just dropped a brand new box of tampons, which was open, in the toilet. To make things worse, I tried fishing them out as quickly as I could only to empty them into the sink that was also filled with water. - They are now drying on my bathroom floor, and we are having guests for dinner in 1 hour, and I am scrambling to come up with substitutions for my spoiled groceries.

Maybe I'm dehydrated? Or sleep deprived? Maybe this disease is like the 24 hour flu and it will be gone by tomorrow! (I really hope so)

Ah Lauren... I laughed, but not at you. It's funny because I can relate. I have days where things like that get so ridiculous, I think, what could go wrong next? and then something does.
I have a feeling though that you made all these mishaps look graceful, stylish and non-accidental.

I have days like that all the time, one of the few nice things about being pregnant is you can blame everything on the pregnancy.

....or maybe you're pregnant!! Nice try with the tampon coverup, dearie - but those symptoms are a surefire sign that "you've got one cookin' goodlookin'!!"

My first response was the same . . . perhaps you are pregnant. Clumsiness comes with that. . . Or maybe that's just me. anywho, how does the story end? What did you make for dinner?

p.s. we went to Cocina Toscana on Wednesday night and I'm in love.

Thank you all for the kind words! I wish very much that I could blame my absent-mindedness on pregnancy, but I am as un-pregnant as they come. Dinner, however, went really well. We had Chile Poblano En Nogado.

Shane,
Why were you holding Tampons?
